The math

Why a sorteo out-raises everything else you run

Move the sliders. This is the same arithmetic your treasurer does on a napkin β€” except every seller is tracked and nobody loses a booklet.

Most supporters do not pick the cheapest tier β€” more tickets means more chances, so the average ticket size climbs on its own.

Everything the booklet made you do β€” gone.

Every member is a seller

One page sells once. Forty member pages sell forty times.

Each member of your organization gets their own page carrying the campaign. Share it once and every family becomes a seller β€” with credit for exactly what they bring in.

Links open straight into the Redeema App, so a supporter goes from a group chat to a paid ticket without hunting for anything.

The prize & the tiers

You set the prize. You set the price.

A gift basket, a TV, a signed jersey, a weekend away. Add the photo, the description and the approximate retail value, and pick how many winners you want to draw.

Then set your own ticket tiers. Five dollars for one, twenty for five, thirty for ten β€” or whatever your community actually spends.

The draw

Draw it live on stage, or let it run at midnight.

A ticket-weighted random draw picks your winner plus backup alternates. Ten tickets carry ten times the chance of one β€” exactly what you promised when you sold them.

Run it manually and pull the winner in front of the room at the game, the gala or the graduation dinner. Or set the date and let it run on its own. Either way the same evidence gets written.

Questions, answered.

Why do supporters buy more than one ticket?+

Because more tickets means more chances, and the tiers make that obvious at a glance. A supporter who came to give five dollars sees that twenty gets them five entries, and most of them move up. That is the whole reason a sorteo out-raises a flat donation ask, or a paper booklet where every ticket costs the same.

How is the winner chosen?+

By a ticket-weighted random draw using a cryptographic random number: ten tickets carry ten times the chance of one. It runs automatically on your draw date, or you trigger it live. The draw records its random seed, the eligible entry count and the winning ticket number, and it picks backup alternates at the same time.

Is it legal to run a sorteo like this?+

Yes. A sweepstakes is legal precisely because it never requires a purchase to enter β€” that is what separates it from a game of chance that would need a gambling permit. Every Redeema campaign is built on FTC 16 CFR 451, the standard that makes sweepstakes legal across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and ships with generated official rules and a free way to enter.

Do we have to offer a free way to enter?+

Yes, and it is already there. The free mail-in entry receives the same number of tickets as your lowest paid tier β€” what the rules call equal dignity β€” so the odds are genuinely the same. It is switched on by default, and the mail-in cards are registered for you.

Can we take cash entries in person?+

Yes. When someone hands your treasurer cash at a game or in the pickup line, you record the entry with their name, email and phone, the amount and the payment method. Tickets come from your lowest tier, and you accept a stamped certification that the money was received, so the cash entry sits in the same numbered log as everything else.

What records do we keep?+

Two, and you do not have to build either one. The entry log lists every entry with its gap-free sequence number, its source and the member who sold it. The draw evidence records the random seed, the eligible entry count, the winning ticket, the claim window and a snapshot of the official rules. Export both as PDFs and file them β€” Puerto Rico asks you to keep them for at least three years.

What does it cost?+

There is no monthly fee and no setup cost. Redeema charges one transparent per-transaction fee on the funds you collect, plus Stripe's processing fee. The current numbers are on the pricing page.
