Acceptable Use Policy

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of funds, and reporting to legal authorities.

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs your use of the Redeema platform and supplements our Terms of Service. By using Redeema, you agree to comply with this AUP. This policy applies to all users, including donors, members, and Organizations running fundraising campaigns, crowdfunding projects, or Sweepstakes through our platform.

1. Prohibited Conduct & Financial Compliance

You may not use Redeema to engage in, facilitate, or promote any illegal, fraudulent, or high-risk financial activity. Specifically, you are strictly prohibited from using the platform for:

  • Illegal Activity & Fraud: Engaging in money laundering, terrorist financing, unauthorized data collection, or deceptive practices.
  • Sanctions & Prohibited Jurisdictions: Accepting funds from, providing support to, or otherwise permitting any transactions involving individuals, entities, or jurisdictions subject to international sanctions or prohibited by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Stripe. This explicitly includes Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.
  • Stripe Prohibited Businesses: Engaging in any activity, sale of goods, or fundraising cause included on Stripe's Prohibited or Restricted Business List.
  • Impersonation & Scamming: Impersonating another person, organization, or Redeema entity, or creating misleading fundraising campaigns.
  • Malware & Abuse: Uploading viruses, malware, conducting DDoS attacks, or scraping data from the platform without written authorization.

2. Crowdfunding & Fundraising Restrictions

If you utilize Redeema's fundraising or crowdfunding modules, you must ensure that your campaigns serve legitimate, lawful causes. To protect donors and comply with financial regulations, you must not establish fundraising campaigns for:

  • Financial Returns or Equity: Offering financial returns, equity, securities, dividends, or crypto-assets to donors. Redeema facilitates donation-based crowdfunding where contributors do not expect financial compensation.
  • Illicit Goods and Services: Funding the purchase, manufacturing, or distribution of weapons, ammunition, controlled substances, illegal drugs, or adult/sexually explicit content.
  • Hate Speech & Harm: Campaigns that promote hate speech, violence, discrimination, harassment, or defamation against individuals or groups.
  • Lack of Transparency: Failing to clearly and accurately detail the specific purpose of the fundraising campaign. Funds collected must be used strictly and exclusively for the purpose stated on the campaign page.

3. Content Standards

All content posted, shared, or displayed on Redeema must adhere to the following standards:

  • Accuracy: All campaign descriptions, milestones, and organization details must be 100% truthful, verifiable, and not misleading to donors or the general public.
  • Legality: Content must comply with all applicable local, federal, and international laws, including copyright, privacy, and consumer protection regulations.
  • Decency: Content must not contain sexually explicit, graphic, hateful, or gratuitously violent material.

4. Sweepstakes, Promotions & Gaming Compliance

Organizations running sweepstakes, raffles, or promotional contests through Redeema must strictly comply with charitable gaming and consumer laws:

  • Eligibility: Clearly define participant eligibility requirements, official rules, and explicit geographic restrictions.
  • No Purchase Necessary: Ensure strict compliance with federal and state "no purchase necessary" legal mandates to avoid classification as unregulated gambling.
  • Prize Delivery: Legally guarantee and execute the timely delivery of promised prizes to winners exactly as described in the campaign.

5. Security & System Integrity

You must not attempt to bypass or compromise platform security:

  • Unauthorized Access: Accessing any account, system, API endpoint, or data without explicit authorization.
  • Vulnerability Testing: Testing, probing, or exploiting security vulnerabilities in the Redeema infrastructure without written permission.
  • Circumvention: Bypassing authentication, access controls, or financial limits set by Redeema or Stripe.

6. Enforcement, KYC, and Auditing

Redeema reserves the right to enforce this policy strictly and without prior notice to protect our financial partners and community:

  • Identity Verification (KYC/AML): We reserve the right to request valid, government-issued identification or corporate documentation at any time. Refusal or failure to provide accurate verification documents constitutes a direct violation of this AUP.
  • Investigation: We monitor and investigate any suspected violations of this AUP, including auditing campaign descriptions and donor transaction patterns.
  • Suspension & Freezing: We reserve the right to suspend accounts, reject specific donations, and freeze or hold funds if a violation or an unacceptably high rate of chargebacks/disputes is detected.
  • Reporting: Illegal activities will be reported immediately to law enforcement and our financial processors (Stripe).
